Chloroprene Detection Tubes 5/a (5 - 60 ppm)
For short-term measurements more than 160 Draeger-Tubes are available to measure the spot concentrations of specific gases. Measurement usually takes between 4 seconds and 15 minutes. The tubes are used either manually with the Draeger-Tube Accuro Pump or automatically with the Draeger X-act 5000.
A wide range of different gases and vapors can be detected and measured, such as:
- Determining and measuring concentration peaks
- Measuring personal exposure in the inhalation area
- Detecting leaks in pipelines, gas installations etc.
- Air analysis in sewers, shafts and confined spaces.

Standard Measuring Range: |
5 to 60 ppm |
Number of Strokes (n): |
3 + 3 desorption strokes in clean air |
Time for Measurement: |
approx. 3 min |
Standard Deviation: |
±10 to 15 % |
Color Change: |
violet ?> yellow brown |
Temperature: |
10 to 30° C |
Absolute Humidity: |

Reaction Principle: |
CH2 = CH-CCl = CH2 + MnO4- ??> MnIV + various oxidation products |
Cross Sensitivity: |
Many other organic compounds with C=C double bonds are indicated as well, but with different sensitivities. It is impossible to differentiate them. It is impossible to measure chloroprene in the presence of dialkyl sulfides. |
