Organic Arsenic Compounds & Arsine Detection Tubes (3 mg org. arsenic/m3)
For short-term measurements more than 160 Draeger-Tubes are available to measure the spot concentrations of specific gases. Measurement usually takes between 4 seconds and 15 minutes. The tubes are used either manually with the Draeger-Tube Accuro Pump or automatically with the Draeger X-act 5000.
A wide range of different gases and vapours can be detected and measured, such as:
- Determining and measuring concentration peaks
- Measuring personal exposure in the inhalation area
- Detecting leaks in pipelines, gas installations etc.
- Air analysis in sewers, shafts and confined spaces

Standard Measuring Range: |
Qualitative 0.1 ppm Arsine and 3 mg org. arsenic/m3 are the minimum detectable concentrations |
Number of strokes n: |
8 |
Time for Measurement: |
max. 3 min |
Standard Deviation: |
50 % |
Color Change: |
yellow ??> gray |
Temperature: |
0 to 40 °C |
Absolute Humidity: |
< 50 mg H2O / L |
Reaction Principle: |
a) AsR3 + Zn/HCl ??> AsH3 b) AsH3 + Au/Hg-Complex ??> Au (colloidal) |
Cross Sensitivity: |
Phosphine and arsine are indicated before the ampoule is broken, but with different sensitivities. |
Additional Information |
Arsine is present if a grey ring appears in the indicating layer after performing 8 pump strokes. If there is no indication, the ampoule must be broken and the liquid transferred onto the indicating layer such that it is completely saturated. Then an additional eight pump strokes must be performed. |
