Acrylonitrile Detection Tubes (2 to 360 ppm)
Gastec Detector Tube No 191 is used for the detection of
Acrylonitrile in the
air of industrial areas and in environmental atmospheric conditions.
- Measuring Range:
- 2 to 5 ppm - 4 pump strokes - Correction Factor is 0.4
- 5 to 120 ppm - 2 pump strokes - Correction Factor is 1
- 120 to 360 ppm - 1 pump stroke - Correction Factor is 3
- Sampling Time: 45 seconds per pump stroke
- Detecting limit: 1 ppm (4 pump strokes)
- Changes from Yellow to Red
- Corrections for temperature & humidity: Temperature correction is necessary
- Relative Standard Deviation: 10% (for 5 to 40 ppm), 5% (for 40 to 120 ppm)
- 3 Year Shelf Life
- Reaction Principle:

- CH2:CHCN + Cr 6+ + H2SO4 → HCN
- 2HCN + HgCl2 → 2HCl
- HCl + Base → Chloride
- Store the tubes at a cool and dark place.
