SafeAir Chlorine/Chlorine Dioxide Detection Badges
Chlorine dioxide is a yellow to reddish-yellow gas with an unpleasant odor similar to chlorine. It is used in the purification of water, for disinfection in the food industry, and in a variety of industrial applications. Exposure to chlorine dioxide may be highly irritating to the skin and mucous membranes of the respiratory tract and continued exposure may cause pulmonary edema.
Chlorine is used as a disinfection agent for water and surfaces, and in the production of many products including paper, dyestuffs and textiles. It is also used as a precursor in both the chemical and petroleum industries. Chlorine is highly corrosive both to equipment and people. Even mild exposure to chlorine gas will cause burning of the eyes, nose and mouth.
SafeAir Chlorine & Chlorine Dioxide badges are dual-purpose sensors made to provide an immediate visual indication of exposure to chlorine and/or chlorine dioxide gas. The color change may appear on the front if chlorine is present and/or on the backside of the badge if chlorine dioxide is present; depending upon the level of exposure of the two contaminants. The intensity of the color change is proportional to the exposure dose. SafeAir Chlorine & Chlorine Dioxide badges are a simple, cost-effective solution for chlorine & chlorine dioxide detection in the workplace.
Features:
- Highly sensitive and selective to target chemical
- Easy to use
- Ideal for daily employee screening or leak detection
