SafeAir Mercury Detection Badges
Mercury is used in many scientific instruments and meters, as well as in mercury arc lamps that produce ultraviolet rays. It is also present in pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals and antifouling paints. Mercury exposure may cause inflammation of the mouth and gums, kidney damage, muscle tremors, depression and nervousness.
SafeAir Mercury badges provide an immediate visual indication of exposure to mercury at two sensitivity levels. When mercury vapor is present, the exclamation marks in the triangular windows change color. The front of the badge detects mercury at 0.25 mg/m3∙hr, while the back of the badge is more sensitive, detecting mercury at 0.08 mg/m3∙hr. The intensity of the color change is proportional to the exposure dose.
Features:
- Highly sensitive and selective to target chemical
- Easy to use
- Ideal for daily employee screening or leak detection
- Measures TWA exposure
- No calibration or laboratory analysis needed
