Quest NI-100 Noise Indicator Kit
This simple visual indicator helps to identify high noise areas for both the employee wearing the noise indicator and those around them as well.
The NI-100 from 3M™ is a simple device that helps determine if noise in the work environment is over the OSHA stated threshold of 85 dB. The unit flashes green when ambient noise is under 85 dB and flashes red when noise is above 85 dB (+/- 3 dB).
When the NI-100 is worn and the red indicator light flashes, it opens the discussion among employees and gets them involved in their own hearing conservation. By raising awareness of high levels of continuous and impulse noises, safety managers can gain acceptance for additional testing through the use of noise dosimeters to record and review real time data. Employees will also be more inclined to wear PPE, an effective first step toward reducing noise induced hearing loss.
