Chlorine Institute Ton Container Emergency Kit "B"
For use on US DOT 106A500X Concave Head Chlorine One Ton Containers, the Chlorine Institute Kit "B" includes devices and tools to contain leaks in and around the ton container valves and in the side wall of ton containers. All items are labeled with a part number, color coded yellow and are stored inside a durable polyethylene tool box.
The Chlorine Institute Emergency Kit "B" is the only chlorine emergency kit for containers that is manufactured to the specifications of the Chlorine Institute.
NOTE: The new Kit-B design requires a special permit to transport a leaking container with a Chlorine Institute Emergency Kit-B applied. To transport a leaking container, the user must become a "party" to the US DOT special exemption SP-16102. This is a temporary but mandatory requirement until the exemption becomes permanent. To apply see: SPECIAL PERMITS.
B-Kit Design Features:
Device 12: Designed to contain leaks in and around the ton container valves (illustrated).
Device 14: Clamping device for containing leaks in and around the ton container fusible plugs (illustrated).
Device 12 uses the same hood (12A) as the previous Kit-B design but now is applied with the easier to apply, spring-loaded bar assembly 28C.
Device 14 uses the same bar assembly, 28C, as Device 12 and does not touch or attach to the fuse plug like previous Kit-B, Device 4.
Device 9: Patching device designed for sealing leaks in the ton container side walls.
